The School District of Palm Beach County is committed to providing our families with resources and activities to support at-home learning for all of our students.
Over the coming weeks, you and your student may wish to access the various content-specific learning
activities and materials available online through our District Portal.
– Students log in to their portal by first going to the Palm Beach County School District website at https://www.palmbeachschools.org/.
– Click on “Sign In” in the upper right corner of the screen.
For students who do not know their username and/or password, please call your school directly for assistance. Each of the programs highlighted below are designed for independent use by your student.
Kindergarten-Grade 5 Mathematics
SuccessMaker is an interactive, standards-based platform designed to develop and maintain fundamental concepts taught in K–5 mathematics. Your student will experience an individualized, comprehensive presentation of exercises and tutorials addressing basic mathematical concepts with the opportunity to accelerate beyond their grade level. Grades PreK – 12, All Subjects
Khan Academy offers practice exercises and instructional videos for mathematics, science, history, and more, guiding students from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. Khan Academy also provides College Board approved support for Advanced Placement courses and personalized SAT practice.
NOTE: For our youngest students, Khan Academy Kids provides an independent, engaging, adaptive learning path for Pre-Kindergarten students.
Grades 2 – 12 English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies
Newsela is an instructional content platform that provides 1000s of engaging articles addressing content from English Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Social-Emotional Learning. The articles are accessible to all readers as each article may be read at any of 5 different reading levels and Newsela includes over 1000 authentic Spanish articles that may be converted to English if needed. Daily, Newsela adds 10 new articles to their platform. Every Newsela article concludes with a 4-question integrated quiz to measure student comprehension.
Grades 6 – 12 Reading
Reading Plus provides adaptive reading support designed to increase motivation, efficiency, and comprehension. This adaptive program provides students with the choice and control to practice at their own pace. The SeeReader platform provides students with passages about a variety of topics, followed by comprehension questions, designed to improve a student’s reading fluency and comprehension. The ReadAround platform supports vocabulary development and application through customized vocabulary practice. Using digital flashcards,the student selects the correct definition and then uses the new vocabulary word correctly in a sentence.
Grades K – 5 Reading
i-Ready provides personalized reading practice and instruction based on each student’s individual skill level. The i-Ready lessons are designed to be fun and interactive so students learn at an individualized pace. Using either Chrome or Safari to access the District portal and use i-Ready will improve your student’s experience with the program. Imagine Language & Literacy is an adaptive learning solution that accelerates reading and language proficiency for English language learner. Designed to supplement core literacy instruction, Imagine Language & Literacy provides instruction and practice in all four domains of literacy—reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
iStation for Students in Dual Language Programs
Istation is an engaging computer-adaptive program that assesses students’ literacy skills in Spanish and places them in high-interest, interactive online instruction. Students are routed through instructional lessons that teach skills most predictive of success for students in dual-language programs.
Achieve 3000
Achieve 3000 provides the web-based, differentiated instruction solutions designed to reach English Language Learners. Achieve 3000 delivers differentiated assignments at 12 different reading levels, along with formative assessments linked to state standards.
