Samantha Conde
Chair
Samantha Conde coordinates educational programs and community engagement projects for WXEL-TV, the local public television station serving the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast of Florida. A ten-year employee, Samantha taught school in Uruguay before moving to the U.S. 13 years ago. She worked at a commercial radio station prior to landing at WXEL.
Samantha is responsible for planning, implementing, and reporting all department activities to the Florida DOE to satisfy grant requirements. She establishes, nurtures, and maintains positive external relationships with community partners that support WXEL’s outreach efforts. She oversees the training of hundreds of teachers, parents, and caregivers with literacy and social skills, and has assisted in gathering and distributing over one million books to build thousands of children’s home libraries.
Other duties include serving on: the Board of KEISER University Advisory Board of Directors, the Board of Resource Depot, the board of the Women Chamber as chair of the programs committee and as the Hispanic Education Coalition of Palm Beach County as Vice Chair. Additionally, she is been a member of the Children’s Literacy Committee for the last 10 years while serving on the Women with Wings and Wisdom’s Leadership Advisory Board and the Palm Beach State College STEAM Initiative’s Professional Leadership Advisory Committee.
Samantha works in partnership with dozens of nonprofit organizations in Palm Beach county advocating for family and children’s issues. She also hosts and produces Aprendiendo Juntos(Learning Together), a community affairs show and a collaboration between WXEL, The Education Network, and the Palm Beach County School District to enhance parent involvement in their children. The show features unique interviews with renowned local personalities, as well as information about community and educational programs and initiatives.
Samantha and Jorge, and her husband for more than 20 years, are very involved in their children education, this fall Roman will attend college, Lara will be in her last year of Middle School and Celeste will start Pre-K.
