Emma Velez is the President and CEO of Tres Communications. Prior to founding Tres Communications, Emma held a career with Cox Communications’ Spanish newspaper “La Palma” and English newspaper “Palm Beach Post.” In her capacity as National Account Executive, Emma worked with national advertising campaigns for companies such as AT&T, Sprint, Metro PCS, Home Depot, Wachovia (now Wells Fargo), National City Bank, and others.
Preceding her career in the print media markets, Emma accepted a new challenge in a local South Florida TV station. In this role, Emma expanded from the Advertising division to the Production area of the TV station. This afforded her the opportunity to attain a broad knowledge base of main media markets.
Then, Emma moved on to be an Account Executive for Clear Channel Communications, South Florida’s. In this capacity, Emma had the opportunity to develop radio advertising campaigns from creation to implementation.
Emma began her career in Communications in Puerto Rico with the entertainment industry at “Great Productions International Inc.” where she held a role as Public Relations Assistant. In this role, she coordinated many events such as “The Paoli Awards;” “The Paloma de la Paz Awards;” several beauty pageants; annual galas; and key press conferences.
She is part of the board of the Puerto Rican Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County where she serves as Director of Public Relations. She is also a board member of the Hispanic Education Coalition of Palm Beach County where she serves as Director of Communications.
Emma earned a Bachelor’s degree in Arts of Communications with a concentration in management, where she graduated magna cum laude from the Sacred Heart University of Puerto Rico in 2004. She also earned a Master of Science degree in Mass Communications from Florida International University in 2013. Emma is married and has a daughter.
